Ever wonder why you circle back into a situation and ask yourself how I get here…again? Seems common yet frustrating. You don’t want to be here; somehow, you feel you have betrayed yourself and started the self-talk of doubt and negativity.
Life experiences have a powerful way of imprinting upon your thoughts and emotions. The experiences translate into your worldview of others and yourself. Those experiences, good and bad, are often learned from the people who influence your development.
Learned behavior and interpretations can be unlearned and relearned. You choose the compass or guide of the relearning process. Some choose culture, family traditions, friends, an author, a teacher, or the bible.
Emotions are powerful and leave strong imprints on experiences. Even though they may have been painful, your memories can invoke emotions that may cause you to relive them repeatedly, both good and challenging ones.
There is hope for renewed thinking and gaining the power to choose not to let the memories tied to emotions continue to have control.
Forgiveness toward yourself and the hard memories is crucial to escaping the “stunted and stuck” vicious cycle. Nothing will happen without moving forward, creativity, vision, and hope.
Some painful memories seem impossible, but that is where grace empowers you to do what is too difficult. Forgiveness is freedom. It keeps you from being stuck and stunted
Rest in knowing forgiveness is the powerful gift you give yourself. Forgiveness results in growth and no more imprisonment of a painful past holding you back. Now, you fly in the freedom of the destiny you were created to enjoy! Don’t get stuck on being vindicated. Move forward intentionally.
You get to choose to change your imprint, live out of freedom, and be equipped with grace to renew your mind and transform your way to achieving your full potential. Let go, and let’s go onward. Experiences do not define you; they can be tools to shape you. You get to choose forgiveness or stuntedness.
